Coloring the World!
Anything for a Smile artists brighten up the lives of children suffering from long term illnesses with their colorful wall murals for children’s hospital wards. Studies have shown that a bright, cheerful surrounding can positively influence a child’s well-being, attitude, and intelligence
AFAS artists have painted murals in over 70 children’s hospital wards, and 10 schools throughout Türkiye. We would like to see every oncology and hematology ward in Turkey set up with a child-friendly environment.
AFAS artists have painted colorful wall murals in Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Çanakkale, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Giresun, İstanbul, İzmir, Kıbrıs, Kocaeli, Konya, Manisa, Mersin, Ordu, Osmaniye, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, Tokat and Trabzon.
Following the devastating earthquakes in Turkey in February 2023, AFAS artists brightened children's wards with colorful murals at Malatya's City and Research Hospital and Hatay Antakya's Container Field Hospital. They also organized engaging activities to help young earthquake survivors process their trauma.
As of 2024, the AFAS “Coloring the World” project has expanded globally with Turkish and African artists creating beautiful wall murals in two hospitals and a school in Kampala and Fort Portal in Uganda.
